About Us
The Philadelphia Electrical and Technology Charter High School (PET) was established in 2002. We have grown from the new kid on the block to one of the most highly regarded high schools in Philadelphia. In 2004-2005, PET had its first graduating class and has grown to over 600 students.
Our goal is to prepare our students to enter high tech and electrical fields in a variety of ways, either through pursuit of apprenticeships at IBEW Local 98, attendance at two or four year colleges, direct employment in those industries following graduation, or some combination of those paths.
PE&T prepares students to become motivated, confident, technically proficient, disciplined, academically-sound, age/grade appropriate students with the skills to meet or exceed school performance standards of the School District of Philadelphia.
Our educational program continues to stand out as a unique offering in the Philadelphia area – a vocational-technical program upgraded for the 21st century, with students participating in both college and career preparation in equal measures.
A key element of our programming is to help our students develop the skills necessary to become leaders in the work-place, as well as in the community.
To accomplish that goal we have instituted a strict student Code of Conduct, Dress Code, and Attendance Policy.
It's no wonder why students from over 30 zip codes across the city comprise our school.
