Senior Program Info
Our school seniors have an exciting opportunity to prepare for and focus on their post-secondary plans. All seniors select a pathway for preparation. The students identify their immediate post-secondary education plans and are offered courses in that particular area of concentration.
The senior program is a “school within a school”. The courses within this program are completed in the afternoons on a trimester schedule.
Courses offered during the senior program:

Specifically, students identify their skills, knowledge and ability levels, locate job openings, identify career paths, complete job applications, prepare a resume and cover letter, master interview skills, and become comfortable with professional and appropriate behavior in the workplace and adulthood. Emphasis will also be placed on money management.
College Seminar

Specifically, students will identify schools of interest and their requirements, work on college applications, essays and interviews, understand and complete federal financial aid applications, search for scholarship opportunities, and become comfortable with the independence of college life. Emphasis will also be placed on money management and work-study opportunities.

Senior Project
The Senior Project is a major piece of independent research and hands on work, based on the students’ individual career goals, which the student designs and completes. The Senior Project is required for graduation. This project will demonstrate the skills and knowledge that the student has acquired throughout his/her high school education. Successful completion of the Project shows the student’s ability to plan, manage, and create a project, and to set priorities and meet deadlines.
This is an on-line course opportunity that will allow the students to select an on-line course that interests them. The course will be completed in our school building under the supervision of the coordinator of on-line courses.

Students will create/edit a multi-page web site using Dreamweaver and add their graphical designs to the pages. Their web pages will contain text, images, and links.
